Area Service meets the first Sunday of every month at Club Serenity 702 Fallowfield Ave in Charleroi at 9am. You do not have to be a GSR to attend.

The Web Committee now meets on Zoom EVERY Tuesday morning @ 10am. Zoom login details are available on the area website.

H&I meets the Last Sunday of every month @ 5pm at The Vanderbilt Borough Building 196 Main Street Vanderbilt, Pa 15486

  • Fayette Jail Men’s Week 4 Panel Leader Position open (Wed @ 6PM)

  • Fayette Jail Women’s Week 5 Panel Leader Position open (Tues @ 7PM)

  • Wellness Rehab Coed Week 5 Panel Leader Position is open (Fri @ 7pm)

There are Vacant Positions at Area that need to be filled:

  • Activities Chair - 2 Years Cleantime

  • RCM - 2 Years Cleantime (including 1 Year GSR experience)

  • Additional Needs Chairperson - 2 years cleantime

  • Public Relations Chairperson - 2 years cleantime

  • Vice Secretary - 2 years cleantime

  • BOD Rep - 4 years cleantime

  • Policy and Administration Chairperson - 4 years cleantime

Group Announcements:

  • There are Several meetings in the area in need of a GSR. If you would like to serve at the group level these would be great opportunities! (If there are any groups in need of a GSR that would like to be listed in the newsletter please let the web chair know through the “contact us” form on the website.)

Group Conscience/ Business Meeting:

  • Motion about area positions was tabled for clarification, discussion and revote. All Homegroups should discuss the following and take a revote this month (August) to bring to area service on 9/7/25

  • Clarification: This motion only deals with voting in trusted servants at area. Trusted servant nominations would be discussed and voted on at area without having to go back to the homegroups. Everything else would still go back to the homegroups.

  • Intent: To fill positions and provide services in a timely manner without having positions open for months longer than necessary.

  • Discussion that was FOR it: A member stated that the service structure was formed by the groups to provide NA serves on their behalf freeing the groups to focus on their primary purpose which it to carry the message to the addict who still suffers and that the concepts (included in area bylaws) state that the NA groups delegate to the service structure the authority necessary to fulfill the responsibilities assigned to it.

  • Discussion against/ concerns: A member expressed that even though other areas don’t take votes back to their homegroups, there was a reason that OUR area adopted this policy… which is because we have experienced authority/power issues and problems with spirit of rotation in the past.

  • Traditions to look into/ take into account: Tradition 2, Tradition 4, and Tradition 9

  • Concepts to look into/ discuss Concept 1, Concept 3, Concept 5
